Salmonella Poisoning and Margaritas in Canton, Ohio

State and local health officials are investigating a possible outbreak of Salmonella poisoning associated with Margaritas, a Canton, Connecticut, restaurant. Ten people who ate at Margaritas between September 21-27 have tested positive for Salmonella poisoning, also called salmonellosis. All ten people were infected by the same strain of Salmonella bacteria.

Symptoms of Salmonella poisoning include nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, minal diarrhea, fever, and headache. These symptoms may last for 1 to 2 days or may be prolonged, depending on the health of the person infected, the ingested dose, and the strain of Salmonella.
