Mrs. Gerry's Salad Recall

On May 22, 2006, Mrs. Gerry's Kitchen, Inc. of Albert Lea, Minnesota, voluntarily recalled approximately 54,000 pounds of salads because they have the potential to be contaminated with harmful bacteria. Bacterial foodborne pathogens include Campylobacter, E. coli, Listeria, Salmonella, and Shigella. Because foodborne pathogens can not be detected visually or by smell, the recalled Mrs. Gerry's products should not be eaten even if they look and smell good.
The recalled salads include potato salad, pasta salad, tuna salad, ham salad, seafood salad, and macaroni salad.

These products have been sold under the following brands: Mrs. Gerry's, SYSCO, Knowlan's (Festival), Spoon River, and Fareway.
