Recalled Smoked Salmon Dip Sold at Schnucks and Logli
Pritzker | Ruohonen, a national leader in Listeria litigation, is monitoring the recall of Salad of the Seas Cajun Smoked Salmon Dip and other products manufactured by Future Food Ltd. A recent press release issued by Schuncks grocery stores notifies customers that Salad of the Seas Cajun Smoked Salmon Dip was sold at Schnucks and Logli stores in St. Louis, Missouri. Future Food Ltd. voluntarily recalled the salmon dip and other dips, spreads and salads on August 15 because of possible contamination with Listeria moncytogenes, a potentially fatal foodborn pathogen.

ST. LOUIS - Future Food Ltd. of Dallas, Texas is recalling Salad of the Seas Cajun Smoked Salmon Dip in the 7 oz. container because of possible contamination from Listeria monocytogenes. Listeria is an organism, which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
Schnuck Markets Inc. reports that Schnucks and Logli stores carry this product in the seafood department.
The affected product can be identified by:
--UPC of 0-47692-10035-9
--"Sell-by" date of August 23, 2006 (indicated on either the top or bottom of the container)
--Lot code 06186
[Note from Pritzker | Ruohonen: If you have eaten some of the dip, you should save it in the freezer in case you are diagnosed with a Listeria infection (listeriosis). The incubation period is 11-70 days.]
Schnucks and Logli customers who purchased the dip are urged to return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.
