Texas Students Test Positive for E. coli

Two students at Anna Mae Nichols Elementary School in San Antonio, Texas, have tested positive for E. coli bacteria, and school officials have sent a letter home to parents Tuesday letting them know about the investigation.

Health officials are looking for the source of the E. coli bacteria.  E. coli is spread by a fecal-oral route, meaning contaminated feces are consumed.  E. coli can be foodborne, water-borne, pass from infected person to another person or pass from an infected animal to a person.
